We have had more feedback from carers in the past couple of weeks:

Comments from a carer on the Stress Management workshop:

“Brilliant course, very impressed. Tutor was great”.

“I had a positive feeling after attending”.

Comments from carers on the Empowerment workshop:

“The course was good and I learnt a lot”.

“Enjoyed the Empowerment course because as a carer I often feel powerless
when dealing with agencies. The course is helping to develop my skills, my self-
confidence and self-esteem when dealing with statutory agencies about caring
issues”.

Choose from a wide range of wellbeing workshops and includes activities for your cared-for person, so you will have the time to join the workshops, all for free.

To be eligible for the programme you must be an unpaid carer registered with a Luton GP.

Our programme of wellbeing support has been designed by carers

With the help of our team at The Disability Resource Centre we designed 6 main elements of the programme that we are launching today:

- At the induction stage we will explain the goals and support you to join the programme, including activities for your cared-for person, to cover your caring role while you are attending the sessions.

This will be all be paid for by the programme funders, NHS England in partnership with Luton CCG and Luton Borough Council

- Day to day support to help carers with their emotional health, fitness and healthy eating

- Emotional health training programme over 12 weeks

- Fitness and healthy eating programme over 12 weeks

- Professional skills top-up training covering safeguarding, safe handling/moving and time management

- Sharing tips, learning from each other and celebrating our successes

If you would like to join this free programme and start the induction stage then please don't hesitate to contact us by email. We'll get back to you straight away with further details and to arrange a time to phone you to get you all set up on the programme. :-)
